Description and objective
The Client’s commercial property was damaged by a large redwood tree that was blown over in a storm. The tree severely damaged a 70’ main structural glulam, a concrete parapet and tilt-up panel, as well as the roof. Equiptec provided structural drawings and assisted the Property Owner in pulling a permit with the City of Campbell.
Temporary scaffolding was designed and installed on either side of the damaged beam then the damaged roofing was removed to expose the 70’ splintered glulam. The damaged glulam was lifted out and replaced with new using a 100-ton crane. All structural hardware and attachments were reinstalled or replaced and the sheathing and roofing was repaired. The damaged parapet and tilt up panel was framed, formed, doweled and poured. All repairs were painted to match existing. The city of Campbell inspected all repairs and finaled/closed the repair permit.
