Description and objective

Celestica engaged Equiptec as the prime contractor to coordinate, manage, and implement the installation of a new anodizing line for a critical and time sensitive contract with one of their clients at their 950 Rincon Facility. Equiptec self preformed or subcontracted all electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and architectural construction as well as managed the activities of their boiler contractor and process equipment manufacturers.

The scope of work included: construction of new offices, process laboratories, and chemical treatment area; construction of a multi thousand square foot structural steel support frame for roof mounted equipment; enlarged concrete footings and support columns to carry the increased load from (4) new 40 ton roof mounted chillers; demolished, excavated, and poured a new 1,400 sq. ft. concrete equipment pad with roof structure and slatted chain linked fence enclosure to house 2 new gas fired process boilers; provided welded steel boiler piping to new heated process tanks and provided thermal plastic interconnect piping from the new chillers to temperature controlled anodizing and rinse tanks; installed low pressure air blowers to provide agitation in rinse tanks; fabricated a thermal plastic cda piping distribution system; provided chemical resistant epoxy flooring throughout the process areas; provided portable welded steel forklift ramp and pallet racking in the new shipping and receiving area.
